Recensione
(Italian)

Elizabeth (Keira Knightley) e Mr Darcy (Matthew Macfadyen)

Review
(English)

Elizabeth (Elizabeth Garvie) e Mr Darcy (David Rintoul)

Mr. Darcy to the rescue is the second book written by Victoria Kincaid that I had the pleasure to read.
Yet in her Pride and proposals the author showed off her simple and captivating style but, while in the first the author consacrated herself to a story full of pain and pathos, in this new novel she gave evidence of her ability in writing humor scenes.

In this variation, in effect, Elizabeth feels herself obliged to marry Mr Collins due to her father heart illness. I liked of this situation that, even though Elizabeth proclaims herself ready and strong enough to face her marriage on behalf of her family, her true self, the fierce Lizzy that we love, shows up even if she tries to conceal it.
Humor finds place in the novel exactly thanks to her temperament, that collides with Lady Catherine's ideas and Mr Collins's foolishness.

Mr Darcy (Matthew Macfadyen)

To Mr Darcy is spared the burning delusion of the first proposal, but he will find anyway the way to change the idea Elizabeth has of him before to save her from her convenience marriage and marry her. The most parts of pathos and pain scenes are destined to that. Sometimes, moreover, due to the consequences of his actions, the reader can't help to laugh kindly at him.

There are in the novel some scenes of tenderness that have their summit on the scene of illicit kisses on the terrace at Pemberley. It is precisely there that I have wanted more scenes.

Chapters sum up romanticism and humor and the inner thoughts of the characters leave the reader with the feeling of being part of the story.
